Dr. Oya Adwoa Ma’at

Co-Founder

Dr. Oya Adwoa Ma’at is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She is a U.S Army veteran who served a total of 8 years. While serving in the military, she received her undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Morgan State University. She continued her education at Morgan eventually receiving a Doctorate of Engineering degree. Dr. Ma’at has received a number of honors: MSU Office of Academic Affairs Creativity Award, Inspire Her Award, Black Power Award, B1 Education Award, Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, Lockheed Martin Scholarship recipient, Society of American Military Engineers scholarship recipient, and Distinguished Honor graduate of the U.S Army Finance School. 

Dr. Ma’at is currently a professor of Engineering.  She utilizes an African-centered pedagogy to instruct and engage her students. At her university, she has assisted with the creation of pre-college engineering programs to increase the interest and participation of African Americans in STEM. She has published papers in notable engineering education conference proceedings, specifically the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and the National Society for Black Engineers (NSBE). 

Dr. Ma’at is a strong advocate of African-centered education and is deeply committed to making learning enjoyable for children. She is the co-founder and President of EdAnime Productions, a family-owned and operated Baltimore-based company that creates educational programs that foster self-love, strengthens self-identity, and heighten self-esteem. She is the executive producer of Meltrek, a multimedia program that teaches children about the history, culture, and achievements of Continental and Diasporan Africans. She is also the creator of Conscious Ingenuity, a program that uses STEAM to build character, confidence, and capabilities.  

Dr. Ma’at is also the founder and host of “Truth To Power Talk With Dr. Ma’at”, a platform that is committed to elevating the voices of African researchers, scientists, doctors, humanitarians, and entrepreneurs.

Baba Imhotep Asis Fatiu

Co-Founder

Baba Imhotep is the Founder and Minister-of-Operations of the Pan-Afrikan Liberation Movement (PLM).  He is a Co-founder and Executive Director of the UrBan Youth Initiative Project. This program is a non-profit youth organization working with youth ages 6-12.  He is the founder and a Lead facilitator of the African Awareness and Critical Thinking Study Class. This class is a community-based study class specializing in the study and examination of African History and Culture. 

Baba Imhotep has over 25 years of experience in studying African history and culture.  He is a scientific Pan-Africanist, community organizer, social transformer, lecturer, educator, mediator, organizational consultant, relationship consultant, violence interventionist specialist, and a self-prescribed UrBan Philosopher. 

Lastly, Baba Imhotep has been successfully married to Mama Ife Fatiu for over 15 years.  They have two children together. 

He is also the Author of four books:

  • African Manhood in the 21st Century

Baba Imhotep is a native of Baltimore City and his lifelong mission is the sovereignty of African people.

Baba Adisa Fatiu

Baba Adisa is a lifelong learner and teacher, fitness trainer, author and motivational speaker with a passion for guiding boys and men toward their greatest potential. He has over 17 years’ experience in providing training in individual and group settings.

Amuru Nokware

Instructor

A student and educator of Afrakan culture who prides himself in progressively and productively working to advance the livelihood, growth and development of men and boys of Afrakan ancestry. He is an author and activist who pushes for greater degrees in understanding collective work and shared power amongst Afrakan youth and adults.
